אוֹכְלִים וְשׁוֹתִים וּשְׂמֵחִים, וְאֵין מִתְעַנִּין בְּרֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה וְלֹא בְּשַׁבַּת שׁוּבָה; אָמְנָם לֹא יֹאכְלוּ כָּל שָׂבְעָם, לְמַעַן לֹא יָקֵלּוּ רֹאשָׁם וְתִהְיֶה יִרְאַת ה׳ עַל פְּנֵיהֶם.

We eat and drink and rejoice, and do not fast on Rosh Hashanah or on Shabbos Shuvah. But they should not eat their fill, so that they do not become light-headed, and the fear of Hashem will be upon them.
