Divrei HaYamim II

14:9–14

Asa called to Hashem, “Help us, Hashem our G-d, for on You we rely,” and Hashem struck the Kushim before him

9Asa went out to face him [Zerach the Kushi], and they set the battle in order in the valley of Tzefasah, at Mareshah.

10Asa called to Hashem his G-d and said, “Hashem, with You it is no different to help the many or the powerless. Help us, Hashem our G-d, for on You we rely, and in Your Name we have come against this multitude. Hashem, You are our G-d; let no man prevail against You.”

11And Hashem struck the Kushim before Asa and before Yehudah, and the Kushim fled.

12Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar, and the Kushim fell until none of them remained alive, for they were shattered before Hashem and before His camp; and they carried away a very great deal of spoil.

13They struck all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of Hashem was upon them; and they plundered all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.

14They also struck the tents of the livestock, and took captive sheep in abundance, and camels; and they returned to Yerushalayim.
