Divrei HaYamim I
5:18–22
The sons of Reuven and Gad and half the tribe of Menasheh cried out to G-d in the battle, and He answered their plea, because they trusted in Him
18The sons of Reuven and Gad and half the tribe of Menasheh, of the valiant men, men who carried shield and sword and drew the bow and were trained in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty who went out to war.
19They made war with the Hagri’im, and Yetur, Nafish and Nodav.
20And they were helped against them, and the Hagri’im and all who were with them were given into their hand; for they cried out to G-d in the battle, and He answered their plea, because they trusted in Him.
21They took captive their livestock: fifty thousand of their camels, two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, two thousand donkeys, and a hundred thousand human souls.
22For many fell slain, because the war was from G-d; and they settled in their place until the exile.
