Tanach

Nechemyah

4:7–8, 13–14

Nechemyah set the people by the wall with their swords and said, “Do not be afraid of them; remember my L-rd”; “our G-d will fight for us”

7And I stationed [men] in the lowest parts of the place, behind the wall, in the exposed places; and I stationed the people by families, with their swords, their spears and their bows.

8And I looked, and rose, and said to the nobles, to the officials and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember my L-rd, great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

13And I said to the nobles, to the officials and to the rest of the people, “The work is great and wide, and we are separated on the wall, far from one another.

14In the place where you hear the sound of the shofar, gather to us there; our G-d will fight for us.”
