אולי תאמר שהלך לפרנסתו שגם זה נקרא מצוה, זה אינו, שבזמן התפלה אין זה מצוה, דהא צריך לילך להתפלל שיתן לו הקדוש ברוך הוא פרנסתו והוא לא הלך להתפלל אם כן לא בטח בקדוש ברוך הוא.

Berachos 6b

One who went to his livelihood at the time of tefillah has not done a mitzvah: he should have gone to pray for his livelihood, and so he did not trust in HaKadosh Baruch Hu

Perhaps you will say that he went to his livelihood, which is also called a mitzvah. That is not so: at the time of tefillah it is not a mitzvah, for he should have gone to pray that HaKadosh Baruch Hu give him his livelihood; and he did not go to pray, so he did not trust in HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
