Tanach

Tehillim

44:3–9, 27

Not by their sword did they inherit the land, but by Your right hand; I do not trust in my bow

3You, with Your hand, drove out nations and planted them [our fathers, in their place]; You brought harm upon peoples and sent them away.

4For not by their sword did they inherit the land, and their arm did not save them; but Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your face, for You favored them.

5You are my King, G-d; command the salvations of Yaakov.

6Through You we gore our adversaries; through Your Name we trample those who rise against us.

7For I do not trust in my bow, and my sword will not save me.

8For You have saved us from our adversaries, and You have put those who hate us to shame.

9In G-d we have gloried all day long, and we will thank Your Name forever, Selah.

27Arise to help us, and redeem us for the sake of Your kindness.
