Tanach

Tehillim

27:1–3, 12–14

Hashem is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Hope to Hashem; be strong, and let your heart take courage

1By David. Hashem is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Hashem is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2When evildoers drew near against me to devour my flesh, my adversaries and my enemies, it was they who stumbled and fell.

3If an army camps against me, my heart will not fear; if war rises up against me, I trust in this [that Hashem is my light and my salvation].

12Do not give me over to the will of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, and those who speak violence.

13Had I not believed that I would see the goodness of Hashem in the land of the living [they would have destroyed me].

14Hope to Hashem; be strong, and let your heart take courage; and hope to Hashem.
