Rashi on Tanach

Tehillim 118:4, 8

“Those who fear Hashem” are the Levi’im; to take refuge in Hashem, though a small thing, is better than the firm assurance of men

118:4Those who fear Hashem: these are the Levi’im, of whom it is written, “Whoever is for Hashem, to me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered to him (Shemos 32:26), at the incident of the Calf; and they fought with Yisrael when they said, “Let us appoint a leader and return to Egypt” (Bamidbar 14:4).

118:8It is better to take refuge in Hashem, etc.: this taking refuge [chisayon] is only a term for sheltering in shade, and it is a small thing.

118:8Than to trust [mibto’ach]: [trust is] a sound thing and a strong support; and even so, to take refuge in Hashem is better than the assurance of men.
