Bereishis 41:1 (Mikeitz)

Yosef did not reach the level of trust that seeks no means, because he asked the chief butler to get him out of prison

It seems to me that this is why it says, “Trust el Hashem, to Hashem” (Mishlei 3:5), and not baShem, “in Hashem”: to explain that complete trust, with all one’s heart, is that all his thoughts be toward Hashem, as it is written, “My eyes are always toward Hashem” (Tehillim 25:15). A tzaddik who is complete in the middah of trust should not seek a means. The proof of this is the matter of Eliyahu, as I mentioned in the parashah above: “And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, etc.” (Melachim I 17:6). HaKadosh Baruch Hu arranged that means for him, and he did not seek it. This is a very high level in the middah of trust.

Now Yosef the tzaddik, who trusted in HaKadosh Baruch Hu, because he asked the chief butler to be a means for him to get out of prison, therefore did not reach this level of trust; and he was punished for it, in that he remained two more years, as punishment for the two words he said to him, “And mention me” and “And get me out” (Bereishis 40:14).
