ה׳הוֹי אַשּׁוּר שֵׁבֶט אַפִּי וּמַטֶּה־הוּא בְיָדָם זַעְמִי׃
ט״והֲיִתְפָּאֵר הַגַּרְזֶן עַל הַחֹצֵב בּוֹ אִם־יִתְגַּדֵּל הַמַּשּׂוֹר עַל־מְנִיפוֹ כְּהָנִיף שֵׁבֶט וְאֶת־מְרִימָיו כְּהָרִים מַטֶּה לֹא־עֵץ׃

Ashur is the rod of Hashem’s anger: shall the axe boast over the one who chops with it?
5Woe, Ashur, the rod of My anger! The staff in their hand is My fury.
15Shall the axe boast over the one who chops with it? Shall the saw make itself greater than the one who wields it? As though the rod were to wield those who lift it, as though the staff were to lift [the one who is] not wood!
