Pesichta 24

They broke down their houses to fortify the wall; Chizkiyahu too built the wall, but he trusted in Hashem, the G-d of Yisrael, and you did not trust

“And you counted the houses of Yerushalayim, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall” (Yeshayahu 22:10): this teaches that they would break down their houses and add [them] to the wall. But did Chizkiyahu not already do so? Is it not written, “He strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, etc.” (Divrei HaYamim II 32:5)? Rather, Chizkiyahu “trusted in Hashem, the G-d of Yisrael” (Melachim II 18:5), but you did not trust. That is what [the pasuk] says, “But you did not look to its Maker, and you did not see the One who formed it long ago” (Yeshayahu 22:11).
