Tanach

Bereishis

28:20–22

Yaakov vowed: “If G-d will be with me, and will guard me on this way, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear”

20And Yaakov made a vow, saying, “If G-d will be with me, and will guard me on this way that I am going, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear,

21and I return in peace to my father’s house, and Hashem will be my G-d,

22then this stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be a house of G-d; and of all that You give me, I will surely give a tenth to You.”
